May 2026 Graduate Programme Event
This month, our Graduate Programme events continued to support the development of our graduates, as we welcomed the 2025 cohort to Module 2 and the 2024 cohort to Module 4 of the programme.
Module 2 focused on developing the 2025 graduates’ ability to work effectively within competitive team environments, while also helping them recognise the different personality types and roles that contribute to high-performing teams.
Day 1 was hosted by Blue Sky Experiences in Perth, through their exciting “It’s a Knockout” event. The graduates were divided into teams and took part in a variety of fast-paced challenges designed to encourage collaboration, communication and team spirit. The second day of the module involved activity-led discussions around personality profiling, where the graduates developed their understanding of their role within a team and how to successfully influence others.
Module 4 was held in South Queensferry and split our 2024 graduates into five teams who were tasked with developing an innovative product using one of nine raw materials provided. The materials included bamboo, an RSE van, a wooden pallet, a plastic bottle and even a mystery box.
Each team assigned key business roles, including Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Marketing Manager, before working together to bring their idea to life. The challenge required the teams to develop a full business proposal, including a commercial forecast, SWOT analysis and a creative advertisement for their product.
To conclude the challenge, each team presented their concept to a panel of five in a Dragons Den-style pitch to the graduate programme lead mentors, who decided how much they would invest in each business idea. The winning team was the one that secured the highest total investment across all five dragons!
Both graduate events were a great success, and the cohorts thoroughly enjoyed the combination of the module’s challenges, teambuilding, and leadership sessions, whilst being able to network with other graduates from across RSE’s UK-wide locations.
Well done to all the graduates who took part, and we look forward to seeing them apply their learnings from across the modules to the workplace.
