Reach the Right Person With the Right Knowledge
A pump fails at 5pm on a Friday. A treatment process goes out of consent. A critical asset stops performing. In those moments, you need a team that you can reach first time, that knows your assets and that can quickly mobilise.
Our team has the engineering depth and operational knowledge not just to fix the immediate problem, but to prevent it from happening again. When a critical situation arises, we deploy engineers who already understand your assets, processes and compliance requirements.

Isle of Skye Water Scarcity Emergency Response
The Issue
In June 2023, an extended period of dry weather meant that the Isle of Skye in Scotland had reached āmoderateā water scarcity ā the second-highest warning stage. In Broadford, the stream that supplies the town with its drinking water was only 2-3 days from running dry.
Compounding the challenge, the water treatment works sit next to a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), meaning any emergency intervention had to navigate complex environmental protections and obtain Scottish Government approval.
Scottish Water employed us to provide a blue light service to prevent disruption to the local community.
The Solution
Our operations and maintenance team quickly got to work under our emergency protocols. Working alongside Scottish Water and with authorisation from the Scottish Governmentās Transport and Net Zero Secretary, our team:
- Installed additional emergency pipes to increase the flow from a nearby loch into the depleted burn
- Arranged helicopter delivery of more than 900 metres of 6-inch ridged pipe, two 150 kVA generators and three high-capacity dewatering pumps with control equipment
- Implemented extensive environmental controls and health and safety measures to protect the SAC and SSSI designations
- Maintained a continuous supply throughout the emergency period
The Outcome
Public water supply to Broadford was maintained throughout the crisis. The emergency response demonstrated our ability to mobilise at speed, operate in environmentally sensitive locations and coordinate with regulatory authorities under extreme time pressure.
Our Isle of Skye response has led to us giving Scottish Water ongoing support for emergency drought planning across Scotland, as climate-driven water scarcity events become more frequent.
