Modular Water Solutions
A Critical Time for the Water Industry
Only 1% of the world’s water is consumable, so water availability matters now more than ever. We deliver award-winning solutions for some of the world’s most complex water treatment challenges.
The modular water treatment solutions that we design and manufacture help municipal and industrial customers improve water quality, increase operational resilience and meet regulatory requirements. From drinking water treatment and process water applications to water recycling and reuse, our solutions are tailored to each project’s specific requirements.

Why Choose RSE?
We’re experts in water quality. We solve complex challenges, helping our customers meet today’s regulatory, operational and environmental challenges at pace, at scale and with confidence.
We specialise in off-site, modular builds. We combine treatment process expertise with equipment that’s practical to install. Using a Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) approach provides high-quality construction while minimising environmental and site impacts.
Our solutions are technology-agnostic. We’re not bound to a single supplier or a single technology, so we pivot easily to provide truly tailored solutions. We engineer solutions based on each project’s specific requirements.
We provide integrated modular solutions. We design, build, commission and test products in-house, and have done so for decades. Our hardware and software support all treatment requirements.
We engineer for value. Our proven designs avoid unnecessary bespoke engineering costs, helping deliver greater value and leaving more resources to invest elsewhere.
We engage early. Through FEED-led engagement, we get involved early in the project cycle to identify the most efficient overall solution.
Modular Products & Solutions for the Purification of Water
Our specialist water technologies division has successfully delivered multiple modular plants up to 500 megalitres/day (MLD) offering exceptional environmental, quality and health & safety benefits over traditional on-site fabrication and assembly.

FAQ’s
Can RSE provide a complete turnkey treatment plant?
Yes. RSE designs, manufactures, installs, commissions, and supports complete treatment works, covering process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation (MEICA), civil interfaces and building services, from concept through to handover.
How much faster is modular delivery than traditional construction?
Typically 30% to 50% faster overall, because factory build runs in parallel with site preparation instead of following it. RSE’s modular delivery of the ceramic membrane plant upgrade at Bonnycraig WTW saved around 18 months of delivery time compared with conventional construction methods.
What are the carbon savings to gain from opting for off-site manufacture?
Off-site build cuts capital carbon by reducing concrete and steel volumes, temporary works, rework, and vehicle movements to site. Savings of 20% to 40% against a traditional construction approach are typical. RSE can provide capital carbon reports in line with PAS 2080 principles for each project programme.
Can RSE carry out pilot testing?
Yes. We run pilot plants on site so you can see performance on your own raw water across the seasons, which de-risks the design and supports the regulatory case. Pilots typically run for 3 to 6 months, the sampling programme is agreed beforehand.
What level of automation and remote monitoring is included?
Every plant comes with PLC and SCADA control, full instrumentation, automatic process sequences, alarm management and data logging as standard. We can add remote access, trend reporting and condition monitoring, and integrate with your existing telemetry and control standards.
What operational support is available after commissioning?
RSE offers operator training, full documentation, spares packages, planned maintenance, reactive call out and remote diagnostics. Support can run as a short defects period or as a long-term service agreement, depending on how you want to operate the asset.
