m-MBBR® Standard Applications

BOD Reduction Only

The standard m-MBBR® module is configured as a 3-stage biological reactor with an integrated 2-Phase solids separation stage. Dividing the biological reactor into 3 separate but interconnected stages is proven to improve BOD removal efficiencies.

m-MBBR® Standard Applications

BOD + TN Reduction

The first stage reactor of the m-MBBR® is configured as an anoxic zone, where denitrification of the nitrified liquors from the third stage reactor takes place. The second stage reactor is dedicated to BOD removal, with additional BOD and ammonia reduction achieved in the third stage reactor prior to the 2-Phase solids removal stage.

This configuration of m-MBBR® will also provide beneficial levels of alkalinity within the treated water discharge.

m-MBBR® Standard Applications

BOD + NH4 Reduction

The standard m-MBBR® module is configured as a 3-stage biological reactor. The first and second stages are used for BOD reduction. The third and final stage is used for nitrification of the treated wastewater prior to the 2-Phase solids removal stage.

m-MBBR® Standard Applications

Tertiary Nitrification

For existing works that are failing to meet ammonia discharge consents, the m-MBBR® can be configured to provide a very cost effective nitrification stage that can be operated as a stand-alone facility or integrated within the existing works as a side-stream reactor.
